After the West End 17th Street Canal amusements were blown away, Old Spanish Fort became the next Amusement Park followed by another which lasted just a few years before Pontchartrain Beach (as we know it) became the last on the Lake front other than the one that was at Lincoln Beach for a few years.
Milneburg -- now, the foot of Elysian Fields, was a long time summer weekend entertainment spot where many of the early Jazz musicians played.
